Chemical peels are used to improve texture and complexion of the skin and give a more youthful and healthy appearance. The peel agents are used to soften and reduce fine wrinkles, sun damage and age spots on the face, neck, chest, arms and legs. Acne and melasma can be improved with a series of chemical peels. Healing time is minimal, and most patients return to work the same day as the procedure. Various peel agents and concentrations are used including 50% and 70% glycolic agents and a complex peel with glycolic and lactic acid. Chemical peels work best as a series of peels four weeks apart. Special pricing is available for packages of 4 peels.
Botox is the most effective way to improve dynamic wrinkles which include the frown, forehead, and crow's feet. These are wrinkles which are formed from the motion of muscles in the local area. Both products are a diluted bacterial toxin that is directly injected into a specific muscle to weaken its motion. Although Botox injections need to be repeated every 3-4 months, after a few treatments many patients notice that the effects last longer between treatments as the muscles are retrained to relax.
Dermal filler injections offer patients a minimally invasive option to improve facial wrinkles and deep folds. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps provide fullness and elasticity. Hyaluronic acid gels can be used to improve laugh lines (nasolabial folds), marionette lines, lip wrinkles, corners of the mouth, other wrinkles and folds on the face. We use hyaluronic acid gels that contain lidocaine to minimize the discomfort and provide a natural appearing result. The various hyaluronic acid gels offered are listed below:
Juvederm is a cross-linked slightly higher concentration hyaluronic acid gel also derived from a bacterial source. Juvederm achieves its smooth consistency due to an innovative manufacturing process called HYLACROSS™ technology which lasts up to 1 year. Juvederm gives a smoother improvement and can also be injected more superficially.
Restylane is a small gel particle hyaluronic acid derived from a bacterial source which is cross-linked or stabilized to last longer. It is typically injected more superficially into the middle and deep dermis. Restylane works well for more superficial to moderate wrinkles. Restylane lasts about six months.
Perlane is a large gel particle hyaluronic acid derived from a bacterial source which is cross-linked or stabilized to last longer. It is designed to be injected deeper into the dermis for improvement of deeper folds and wrinkles. Some Perlane patients maintain results up to 9 months.
Volumizers are used to restore the fullness of the face. They are capable of replacing lost soft tissue and plumping larger areas of wrinkles. They work especially well on the lower part of the face.
Sculptra Aesthetic contains poly-L-lactic acid or PLLA, which is an injectable solution for those who are looking to treat some of the signs of aging on the face. Sculptra has been proven to be an effective treatment for many of the lines, wrinkles and loss of volume brought on by the aging of skin which may cause sagging and create jowls. Sculptra is designed to be one treatment administered in two sittings at least four weeks apart. Sculptra treatments are especially effective for Marionette lines, which are those around the mouth and nasolabial folds which form between the nose and the corners of the mouth. It can also be helpful in areas that are sunken or have loss of volume. It helps to gradually replace lost collagen and gives you natural-looking results that can last up to 2 years.
Sclerotherapy is a technique used to treat fine to medium size vessels on the legs. A detergent solution is used to inject into the superficial vessels. This causes the lining of the vessels to become irritated and eventually clot and close down. The treated vessels will slowly fade and diminish over time. This technique is also combined with laser treatments to improve the appearance of spider veins.
