Chemical Peels
Chemical
peels are used to improve texture and complexion of the skin and
give a more youthful and healthy appearance. Various agents are
used to soften and reduce fine wrinkles, sun damage and age spots
on the face, neck, chest, arms and legs. Acne and certain pigmentation
problems can also be improved with a series of chemical peels. Healing
time is minimal and most patients return to work the same day as
the procedure. Our office works with various peel agents including
the B-lift (salicylic acid peels), 50% and 70% glycolic peels and
a complex peel with glycolic and lactic acid.
Collagen
Collagen
injections are an excellent method of enhancing the lips and lifting
the corners of the mouth. They can also be effective for filling
the deep furrows around the mouth known as nasolabial lines. Two
different forms are currently available. Zyplast - bovine collagen
and Dermologen - derived from human cadaver tissue. Collagen injections
tend to last between 3-4 months before they need to be repeated.
The latest technologies and techniques are used to give a person
a natural and youthful appearance.
Botox
Botox
injections are the most effective way to improve dynamic wrinkles
which include frown, forehead and crow's feet. These are wrinkles
which are formed from the motion of muscles in the local area. Botox
is a dilute bacterial toxin that is directly injected into a specific
muscle to weaken it's motion. Although Botox injections need to
be repeated every 3-4 months, after a few treatments many patients
notice that the effects last longer between treatments as the muscles
are retrained to relax.
Microlipoaugmentation
(Fat Transfer)
Fat
can be harvested from the abdominal or lateral thigh area and transferred
to the face as a filter agent. This can be especially helpful to
fill deep furrows or scars. Fat transfer can be longer lasting than
collagen. In many cases, 2-3 fat transfer treatments can give a
permanent correction.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy
is a technique used to treat fine to medium size vessels on the
legs. This technique is also combined with laser treatments to improve
the appearance of spider veins.
